Breaking Free From the Hype of Internet Marketing Part One

I have been bouncing around a bit lately with how I am doing things on this site and some others that I own. Like many people trying to make extra money online with a home based business, I have purchased a lot of different ebooks and programs from Clickbank other affiliate marketers over the years. To date, nothing has really been a worthwhile investment, though I have learned quite a lot about a variety of methods for making money with a website somehow. My last few posts about Commission Blueprint demonstrate that. The program is quite informative and well put together. I learned a lot about Pay Per Click marketing and how to do things the way the authors do. The problem is, I got caught up in the hype of a new product launch and purchased something I just don’t need.

In addition, Commission Blueprint really does not provide all the information you really need to go out and run that sort of business. As I watched all the videos and participated in the forums on their site, it was very apparent that many people would be bailing on that program. A lot of people are very clueless about the entire process and really have no idea what they are getting themselves into. People are talking about how they hope they finally found something that will work for them.

The truth is, less than 10% of the people that bought that program will put it to use at all and many of those will quit within the first few weeks after losing hundreds of dollars on Adwords spending despite the training they received. There are too many variables and many of them require a basic understanding of the internet, marketing, dishonesty, morals and plain old common sense. A lot of people do not have common sense when it comes to business opportunities on the internet.

As I said, I have purchased many products like this one, and I don’t mean to pick on Commission Blueprint because I think it is a pretty good product, but it will not helpĀ  too many people make money online. The biggest winners will be the product authors, Clickbank and the affiliates that could come up with a good enough bribe to get people to purchase.

I have decided to get a refund for my Commission Blueprint purchase and dedicate myself the true principles of earning a living online. I need to stay focused on the teachings of my chosen mentors which I will discuss in my next post. I will be following up with my story and some of the concepts and principles I will be focusing on with my home based internet business. I think I have finally seen the light so to speak and need to make some changes to get where I want to be. My first step is to make these posts and get it all out on the table.

In my next post I will get more into what I will be doing and who I will be listening to from now on. I am part of a very knowledgeable network of professional online marketers and I need to spend more time listening to their advice and less time getting caught up in the Internet Marketing Hype.

I think you will be happy to have gotten your money back from Commission Blueprint. I bought into Ewen and his Super Affiliate Cloning. This was to be his farewell to IM. As he was going into retirement with all his money. Did not take long before he was pushing something else.

Stay with your mentors. They will save you a lot of money and heartache. I wish I had met them thousands of dollars earlier.

Actually Denise, I decided not to request a refund. I got a lot from Commission Blueprint including some landing page templates that I like. Plus they have been adding some additional content on making money outside of PPC too.

They did a nice video on flipping sites at Sitepoint, which is something I was looking for. So, I decided not to get the refund. I did get value and it wouldn’t be right.

They do push their monthly membership site which I will not be joining. I’m sticking with The Affiliate Academy and Private Label Chest as my only monthly memberships.
