As I mentioned, I have a few “mentors” that I listen to and trust for information on internet marketing and making money online. There are many people that make great posts about the subject and I follow a lot of bloggers for tips and advice on various other topics as well. You can’t listen to everyone though. There are various ways to accomplish your online business goals, but you have to do what works for you, how you function as an individual and how you want to operate your business. You must make choices about how you will be operating your online business.

I want to point something out here that many people don’t really think about. The people that are really making HUGE money online are invisible to you and me. You have no idea who they are or what they are doing and they don’t want to be known. They do not teach or share anything with the online community. They make their money and keep their mouths shut. They do not create products about how to make money online. They don’t give a damn about how many Feedburner subscribers they have or number of visitors they get to their social blog. They are busy making money and that’s all they care about.

These are the people you want to learn from. The ones that are making real money. You want to know how they actually do it. The problem is, there are very few people that would be willing to spend their time teaching others their secrets. But there are a few who do just that.

I will be making a series of posts about the people I choose to follow. I will be summarizing what they do, how they do it and what I take away from their expertise. There are only a few because most of the people that spew “how to” info online, even those that are considered “gurus” in the internet marketing world, are basically just full of shit. They are marketers selling a product. Many are just flat out lying to people just to sell ebooks and other higher priced products. They are scammers preying on the ignorant.

In addition, Commission Blueprint really does not provide all the information you really need to go out and run that sort of business. As I watched all the videos and participated in the forums on their site, it was very apparent that many people would be bailing on that program. A lot of people are very clueless about the entire process and really have no idea what they are getting themselves into. People are talking about how they hope they finally found something that will work for them.

The truth is, less than 10% of the people that bought that program will put it to use at all and many of those will quit within the first few weeks after losing hundreds of dollars on Adwords spending despite the training they received. There are too many variables and many of them require a basic understanding of the internet, marketing, dishonesty, morals and plain old common sense. A lot of people do not have common sense when it comes to business opportunities on the internet.

As I said, I have purchased many products like this one, and I don’t mean to pick on Commission Blueprint because I think it is a pretty good product, but it will not help  too many people make money online. The biggest winners will be the product authors, Clickbank and the affiliates that could come up with a good enough bribe to get people to purchase.

I have decided to get a refund for my Commission Blueprint purchase and dedicate myself the true principles of earning a living online. I need to stay focused on the teachings of my chosen mentors which I will discuss in my next post. I will be following up with my story and some of the concepts and principles I will be focusing on with my home based internet business. I think I have finally seen the light so to speak and need to make some changes to get where I want to be. My first step is to make these posts and get it all out on the table.

In my next post I will get more into what I will be doing and who I will be listening to from now on. I am part of a very knowledgeable network of professional online marketers and I need to spend more time listening to their advice and less time getting caught up in the Internet Marketing Hype.

Some of these features are very good news and will help internet marketers do a much better and more efficient job of building your links. The added Pligg feature is great as is the Ping feature. Having more social sites is always a plus, and BMD 4 will be web-based which is great news for Mac users.

If you do not this product yet, go get BMD now. The price will be going up with the release in a couple weeks and previous owners will be upgraded for free. The price is currently $97 and it will be going to $147. If you are looking for an incredible tools for increasing your link building production, you MUST have this tool.

In a nutshell - this program is awesome. I cannot see a hint of scam in this one folks. The creators obviously really do this business full time and make it happen for them on a daily basis. It has been a while since an internet marketing product has really pleased me so much. The quality and depth of the information provided is impressive and then some. Commission Blueprint includes several hours of video, samples and templates for ads, landing pages, lead capture pages, tracking systems, Excel spreadsheets and a host of other things. I have found several tips and strategies that were worth the price of the program on their own. I am truly impressed with the program.

The only bad news, if you can call it that, is the general expense of getting started in PPC. We know already that the entire Commission Blueprint program is about Pay Per Click (PPC) and Adwords. Getting started with PPC can be VERY expensive and keyword and conversion testing can costs into the thousands of dollars if you don’t do things right. Sometimes even if you DO do things right a campaign can be a loser and you have to chalk it up and move on. Keep this in mind if you are considering purchasing this program or getting ino PPC at any level. The $77 purchase price for Commission Blueprint is a drop in the bucket compared to the investment you will need to make just in your start up budget if you want to do things right.

Commission Blueprint recommends a minimum of $200 (ideally $500 or more) to test each Clickbank product and Adwords campaign. They suggest that it will take testing 4-6 products to find one that is a winner. This means that $200 x 6 tests = $1,200 just for ad testing. Of course some sales should be coming in throughout the testing period which will offset some of these costs, but it is still expensive nonetheless. That is a huge barrier for getting started with this program for a lot of people.

In addition, Commission Blueprint recommends several paid tools for working their program. Some of these programs cost several hundred dollars and some have ongoing monthly subscription fees. These tools are all amazing though and seem to be worth every penny. They also recommend several free tools too so not everything costs money. In their keyword research videos, they do two sepearate walkthroughs - one using paid tools and one using free tools. Both got the job done.

If you do have the funds available to get into PPC advertising, Commission Blueprint is hands down one of the best programs available right now. The costs is such a great deal that it amazes me that they did not charge more. From what I understand though, the price will actually be going up in the next day or so.

When you first sign-up, you are offered a monthly subscription to their membership program, but I did not choose to sign up for that.

Also, since joining yesterday, they added a private forum which is already bustling with activity and positive feedback on the program. They even sent out an email they will be adding more information to the program shortly that will be impressive. I’m not sure how much more they can improve on this program, but they seem to be doing it. Commission Blueprint is a winner in my book. I have to go finish watching video 11, 12, 13 and 14.

There’s actually been quite a bit of buzz on the net over this product in the past few days. If you haven’t heard about it, and didn’t have a chance to see the video, here’s the Reader’s Digest version…

The product/program/whatever is called Commission Blueprint and the creators, Tim Godfrey and Steven Clayton, describe it as a “radical system that exploits Clickbank and Google in such a devious way that the resulting profits are in the realms of the insane.”

Now you’ve heard this kind of thing before…in fact you hear it every week…but in this case these guys just don’t seem to be full of it so much. I mean, just the figures alone are enough to make normal people skeptical. And without talking about how much you spend in addition to how much you earn, you can’t really determine whether or not a PPC campaign is profitable. And sometimes, even profitable campaigns are just way too much work to manage, especially if they use multiple campaigns, hundreds of keyword phrases and ads.

• $6,513.04 in one day
• $153,426.72 in 6 weeks
• $526,422.83 in 7 months.

These are the numbers that are claimed for Commission Blueprint. The crazy thing is, these numbers were generated by promoting ONE Clickbank product, bidding on just ONE keyword…and without ANY help from JV partners or even an email list! That just sounds too good to be true. Half a million dollars from selling one affiliate product, with one keyword with no help and no email list? How can that be?

If you are familiar with Adwords at all, then you know setting up a basic pay per click campaign is easy. It gets hard when you have multiple campaigns and lots of keywords though. A simple affiliate campaign for one product with one keyword should take just a few minutes to set up.

Commission Blueprint has just gone live at Noon today. Check it out if you are interested in learning their techniques for earning such huge incomes. I do plan on joining and will be doing a full review of what is included and some other goodies. Hopefully the program will be at least close to what they say it is. I watched the Commission Blueprint Video with skepticism, as I always do, looking for the fault with the program. So far the only issue is that they do not state how much they spent on Google Adwords and other PPC campaigns to generate that huge income. In part of the video, Tim menitons that while he was taking a mini-retirement in the Caribbean for 30 days, he made over $40k in profits using his methods.

The thing that gets me is that the affiliate programs they promote are niche products that are NOT in the ‘make money online’ market. That made me a little less skeptical because of the product launch formula type promotions are for MMO products. Any of you coming here from the MMO guys’ sites know that the niches outside MMO are the ones to target to make the most profit.

Right now, most of my businesses are not making me very much money. I know why too. The good thing is, I can do something about it. I will be sharing my secret with you too. Before you click out for fear of the sales pitch, keep reading. The truth is, you probably already know the secret to being successful in your own home based business, or any business for that matter. It really is not a secret at all. Go ahead and think about it and you will surely give a sigh because you know it’s true.

The secret to success is a little thing called work. W-O-R-K. That’s right people. Work, work, work! It would be great if there was actually a secret formula for success. But there isn’t one. You have to work to succeed. The problem is that most people believe there is some magic formula that you can follow to become a millionaire with ease. So they keep listening to all the sales pitches and “guru” bullshit and they keep entering their credit card info and racking up the charges for crappy ebooks and bookcases full of business opportunity garbage. They end up nowhere and broke and kick themselves for spending all that money on stuff that doesn’t work. Many give up their business dreams altogether.

There are many things that help when trying to run a home based business and make it a success. Things like desire, commitment, dedication and focus all play crucial roles, but they are nothing without work. I would say the two main factors for success are desire and hard work. It is that simple. If you want it bad enough and you are willing to work for it, you will most likely get it.

I have been slacking on a lot of my business activities and I have been paying the price. When I was running my last 6 figure business, I was totally focused on making that business a success and I was working that business all the time. I didn’t have twenty other things going on around me. I was focused and I was loving what I was doing because I was seeing the money rolling in on a daily basis. When circumstances and my market changed (which happens sometimes in business) and the income from that business slowed to almost a dead halt, I had to find other things to make money with. The problem is I never had the same focus and desire again. I have been adding one business after another to my portfolio and none of them have been given the attention they need to thrive. I’ve been doing this little balancing act with a dozen things and I have learned that that is not the most profitable way to run a business.

I have also been doing some deep soul searching lately and found a renewed focus and desire to succeed in my home based business again. Basically, I have gone ahead and lit a big fire under my own ass and will be doing what needs to be done around here to bring in more cash flow. I have been spending a lot of my time working several different businesses that are just not producing enough income for me to warrant their existence. THey are interesting to me and I like some of the work I do, but WTF? I will be terminating several things to allow me more time to focus on what I really want, and need, to do.

Also - no more excuses. For anything. My new plan is to work my ass off from now on until I make 6 figures again. I will be cleaning house and dumping a lot of non-income-producing activities and websites that I have been spending time on and focusing 100% on the things that matter the most. I will be spending the majority of my time on my online activities and cutting way back on offline marketing and promotion, mostly because it costs me money.

So that’s it. I have given you a little advice and some example of what I have done and will be doing to increase my bottom line. In future posts I will be getting into some info that may actually be useful to some of you who might be looking to start earning an income with your own home based business. Tips, strategies, advice, motivation and other things that make a difference and are important for success.

The Blinkweb Affiliate Program is so new, I expect there will be some adjustments as more marketers sign up and provide feedback. I already have some suggestions of my own, such as multi-tiered commissions, and a decrease in the requirements to reach higher commission levels. You get 20% as a standard Blinkweb Affiliate, which is when your sales are less than $2,000. If sales are between $2k and $10k, you will earn 25% and if they are over $10k, you would be considered a Super Affilate and get 35% commissions. I don’t see many people hitting $10k per month in domain and hosting sales any time soon with Blinkweb, but you never know.

In my last post on Blinkweb, I mentioned that they went live, then closed. Well they are live now and already have over 20,000 sites (or placeholders at least) setup. I recently learned that Blinkweb will be adding an affiliate component to their new website creation site and domain registration service. I was hoping there would be a Blinkweb Affiliate Program so I am looking forward to reviewing it. Brad Callen posted a comment on another blog of mine that the Blinkweb Affiliate Program will be unveiled in the next week or so.

At this point I have no other details on the program, but knowing the previous affiliate products and programs that Brad and Matt Callen have produced, I expect the Blinkweb Affiliate Program to be quite successful. The Blinkweb com website is already offering items and services for sale, and they will be adding more. It is great to know affiliates will be able to earn some income from the site, as I see it being a useful tool for internet marketers, in addition to new website owners who do not know hopw to get started building a website or creating an online presence. It is also good to know that many of the services are recurring fees that hopefully will be passed on as well.

I am usually concerned about sending someone to a new site that may be experiencing growing pains, but I trust that before the Blinkweb Affiliate Program is announced, Blinkweb support will be prepared to handle issues and correct any misunderstandings about the affiliate program and the website creation service as well as any other products or services such as domain registrations, domain transfers and any other products and services that will be added. They do have policies in place so I’m sure their support staff will act according to their policy on the subject. I would advise Blinkweb users to read the policies before purchasing anything from the Blinkweb site to be sure they understand what they are agreeing to.

I’ve read about people expecting to register a domain through Blinkweb, which they are offering for free, and then they are trying to transfer it immediately away from Blinkweb. It seems obvious to me that Blinkweb would not allow this, but there is always someone just looking for the freebie then complaining when they don’t get it. Again, read the policy prior to purchase, not after.
