Wowzza Power Social Network Business Review

It never ceases to amaze me how one thing can lead you to another on the internet. The entire concept of linking and networking is what the internet is all about. Although I receive a lot of marketing pitches from the various lists I am on, every once in a while one comes along that piques my interest enough to make me take action.

For example, this morning I received an email from a vendor I am affiliated with telling me about Wowzza – not wowza or wowzaa – but Wowzza, with two Zs. It is a new social network for online business people and others who are interested in making money online.

The concept is simple enough but I’m not quite sure yet how it will pan out. I mean really…there are a ton of free social networking sites on the internet already that are filled with people. Why in the world would someone pay to join Wowzza? I thought about it for a little while as I took the site tour, which I recommend, and realized the answer is obvious. People will join because they want to make money. People that are already trying to make money will join to help promote whatever they currently have to Wowzza members because they are pre-qualified business opportunity seekers.

For the most part, the people that are spending all their time on free sites like Facebook, MySpace and others like them are not monetizing their time or their pages at all. What if there was a way to make money while doing all the same things they are doing now? All they need to do is add a link to Wowzza on their Facbook page. That’s all. Some people will click the link. That’s just the way it is. You don’t have to make a big sales pitch about it if you don’t want to. People are interested in what you are interested in. That’s why they’re on those sites in the first place.

So I jotted some things down and came to a conclusion – I’m joining. I will be writing more about Wowzza and doing a full Wowzza Review in the near future so look for that. For now, I suggest you take some time to go to visit the site and look around. There is even a FREE signup so you can see all the features and benefits before forking over any financial info.

[UPDATE]
I spent a couple days at this Wowzza site and decided quickly that joining was a mistake. I’m getting spammed like crazy from the membership there. Review my Wowzza Review page for more info. DO NOT waste your time on the company. I have cancelled my account and requested a refund.

New Affiliate Marketing Site – Online Pharmacy

Is it a questionable niche? Yes. Is it a crowded niche? Yes. Can you make a lot of money in a crowded niche? Absolutely. I don’t want the whole pie…I just want a small piece. Even a few little crumb would do.

Since I’ve been thinking more about getting some affiliate commissions going again, I decided to put a past successful site back on the table again and do something with it. It was a generic viagra site where I sold access to my list of cheap online sources. I charged $49.95 and had a LOT of people sign up for access. The site did well over $100k in sales and commissions back then in the first and second year it was live, then the bottom dropped out when Pfizer and the FDA cracked down on the generic drug websites, especially those using the term Viagra since it is a trademark of Pfizer. All the sites that accepted credit cards and payments (ie. Paypal, 2checkout, etc.) stopped processing payments from any drug related sites. Forget about it…

I kept the site and just changed it around a little it to remove any payment options and basically just left it there – forgotten and never updated. It still generates about a hundred dollars a month to this day just sitting there. I just decided that I will be bringing it back to life right before your very eyes. The site still gets several hundred visits per month with no promotion of any kind and the same old, static, outdated useless information. It has to do better if I work on it a little bit, right? So…look for that if you’re interested. I will post more soon as I get started on it. First I need to change the format around. I’m going to make it a WordPress site. I’ve been looking at Joomla a lot recently as well but I have to learn a little more about it first. Looks very cool though.

Affiliate Marketing – Planning for 2008

I have been spending pretty much all of my time on real estate investing this year so I’ve really done nothing with affiliate marketing. I can’t figure out why I am having so much trouble taking a day or two a week and focusing on building a site around a niche. I mean really, how hard is it to get that ball rolling? I get fired up on a plan and an idea and then it would fade, then I’d ramp up again, and it would fade.

I’m not sure why it is so difficult to get that business in gear. That’s what this website was originally supposed to be all about – affiliate marketing and building an online business. A blog with affiliate links and adsense ads and all that. Maybe even a product or two of my own. So far it has mostly been posts about a now semi-defuct startup company that I never expected to make any money off in the first place.

In any event…on to 2008. What is the plan? I will have to get back to you on that one. As of right now, my plan is to build a real estate niche site. Basically a free foreclosure information site. This way, I can focus on what I’m doing and what I want to do at the same time. I have all this knowledge on real estate investing, why not put it to use in the online world? I plan to build the site and add content as I go, then I’ll work on monetizing it. Maybe add some adsense ads, a paid member area, some affilite products and services and who knows…

Affiliate Marketing for 2007 – Update

Well, so far this year didn’t pan out as I had planned for my online ventures. Back in December 2006 I posted that I was going to begin building my online marketing business this year. Well, I got sidetracked quite a bit with real estate investing and haven’t done much at all with affiliate marketing at all.

I have decided to commit at least one day per week to this from now on. I’m going to write up a schedule for all my business activities so that I can stay focused on one thing at a time. I have a problem with focus and tend to jump around a lot throughout the day.

I want to get some focus back and really spend a few days planning this all out. So look for that soon.

I have decided to drop the Rich Schefren program. The materials are very good but I just can’t justify the cost and time requirements at this time. Perhaps in the future but not now.

Now the fun begins with refund requests so we’ll see how they handle that. When I first signed up with them, they said there was a 30 day guarantee. I signed up on 2/12 and they didn’t even have the site up and running until early March. I requested the refund on 3/29. I was then charged a second time on 4/3. I received a refund on one month’s payment on 4/6.

So now I was charged for two months and refunded for one month. I have requested a refund on the second month now as well.

Specialty Niche Sites

I was doing some research for one of my niche sites (fireplace doors, screens, tools & accessories) and came across a company called NetShops. They have like 50 specialty niche stores that sell a wide range of products. I was amazed at the domain names they own. I am going to test them out immediately to see how they convert my traffic. The first niche site I’m going to link to them is http://www.centuryfireplace.com/ which currently just offers up Adsense ads. It gets about 430 pageviews per month and does pretty well with adsense but I’m looking to expand things a little to generate more income.

NetShops requires approval so follow this link to their site and apply as an affiliate. They do review each website before allowing you to become an affiliate so get it setup first. I think they are worth it from the look of their niche sites and their affiliate back office. They use DirectTrack for their affiliate management software which is a very nice product as well.

Pipeline Profits and Strategic Profits

So yesterday I was doing more research into affiliate marketing and came across a couple sites that I’d like to talk about. First was a company called http://www.pipelineprofits.com/. I think I found a link there on someone’s blog but I can’t recall who. Anyway, they do not appear to be taking any more clients at this time, but they have these videos on their site that really blew me away.

They use coregistration services and backend systems to follow up with the leads and they apparently make a ton of money. Sounds interesting but would definitely take some planning and investment before doing a rollout. I signed up for the “waiting list” and got an email that led me to another site called Strategic Profits. This company is all about using systems and processes to run an actual business as opposed to running a website and being self-employed. Again, very impressive video available at the site like the first company. They are having a live webinar tomorrow at 1:00pm US Eastern. Register at their site. They also have a free report called the Internet Manifesto which is a summary of what’s in the video.

Its all very good stuff that I will be looking into more as I try to build my internet business. The things I’m doing now are nice, but I don’t believe any of them are seven figure businesses that can run without my presence. Possibly CSG but they are way too young a company to assume they will be around long term.
